THEMATIC WORKING GROUP

UTILIZING THE ELTER

Summary of work

This TWG has two objectives: (1) Developing an intervention framework for the long-term monitoring of the effectiveness of NBS in urban and peri-urban areas, taking account of S-E, E-T and T-S couplings, and (2) assessing and strengthening the capacities of LTSER platforms for conducting long term research on NBS. The output of the TWG will be a submitted proposal to the European Commission to support NBS research (and additional proof-of-concept SETS research) in eLTER’s LTSER platforms.

Timeline

Phase 1 (July - November, 2022) - developing the conceptual framework and research setting.

  1. Workshop #1 (virtual) - Introduction to the SETS framework; NBS in theory and practice.

  2. Workshop #2 (virtual) - Experience and future research trajectories in LTSER platforms.

  3. Scoping (continuous, virtual) - identify, prioritize and then select call text in the Horizon Europe Work Programmes 2023-2024 (e.g., Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment; Mission: Adaptation to Climate Change). Group will work with draft calls until final calls are issued.
