TRANSFORMING SETS

Summary of work

The group has three objectives: (1) generate a framework that conceptualizes carefull-justice in NBS from a SETS perspective to analyze situated ethical entanglements; (2) generate indicators to operationalize and assess carefull-justice within long term research-to-action projects ; (3) build capacity in this space by engaging and mentoring new and diverse voices. The outputs of the TWG will be (1) a peer-reviewed article based on global case studies in a high-impact journal such as Nature Sustainability or Sustainability Science; (2) a policy and practice brief for local decision makers, practitioners, and community based orgs.

Leadership and of participants

The team is drawn from diverse NATURA partner organizations who focus on inter-related themes including NBS, Social-Ecological-Technological (SETS) Framework, environmental justice, governance, and ecosystem services. The leadership will focus on empowering new voices and perspectives, specifically young scholars and the global south. The leadership will develop frameworks and processes that support collaborative and inclusive engagement and scholarship.
