GLOBAL TO LOCAL: SYNTHESIZING GLOBAL TARGETS AND LOCAL PRACTICES FOR BIODIVERSITY AND NATURE-BASED SOLUTIONS

Goals of this working group

Based on local practice, identify which national-level goals in the Strategic Plan 2011-2020 and/or Post-2020 GBF of the CBD are most relevant in an urban context
Suggest indicators that can be used at the urban level to measure progress towards these global targets.
Conversely, explore how local nature-based solutions and approaches to biodiversity conservation can inform global frameworks.
Provide inputs to the development of the post-2020 framework to improve coordination between global processes and parallel efforts by local governments on nature-based solutions planning.
Highlight best practices and support international city-to-city learning of urban nature-based solutions and biodiversity strategies.
